Fighting
fires is only part of what the Fire Department does; they
also act as first responders in emergency situations and
offer other services to the community such as free blood
pressure checks. Currently the Fire Department is offering
free blood pressure checks from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday
through Friday at the Fire Station located next to City
Hall. Please call first!

Smoke Detectors: The Parker Girl Scout Troop
raised donations and purchased 20 smoke alarms which they
donated to the Parker Fire Department on January 16, 2002.
The smoke alarms will be available to Parker Citizens in
need on a first come, first serve basis. For more
information contact the Parker Fire Department.
T-Shirts: The Parker Volunteer Fire Department
still has T-Shirts for sale. The proceeds go to help support
the NYC Fire Dept. The shirts are $10.00 and can be
purchased by contacting the Volunteer Fire Department at
850-871-4313. The Parker Volunteer Fire Department together
with the Students of Parker Elementary School raised
$11,600.00 for the September 11th victims and their
families. The Department raised the money by selling
T-shirts and by placing "firefighter boots" for accepting
donations in the Elementary School.
